|GOOD INTENTIONS, BAD RESULTS COURTESY OF Fnorteno1.blogspot.com|
TODAY THE WORD is INTENTIONS. As most people are aware, there are good and bad intentions. Withstanding criminals, I feel the majority of people start out with good intentions; the ones on the receiving end might have other conclusions whether they were good or bad. I am going to put Greg and I on the podium for this example so the rest of the population can breathe a little sigh of relief. When, in the past, we have decided to eat healthier and exercise, we both start off with the best intentions and we get out the Ab lounger, and I start planning better, healthier menus and eating suggestions. Wow, if we could sustain that first day or even week, and rarely month’s adrenalin flow, we would be skinny. We start losing pounds and inches an we feel very proud as our good intentions are paying off. Bang, it is like a rock against a glass window and here comes the wall of resistance stopping our great intentions. This is an example and I know all of you reading this are understanding what I am talking about and how the good intentions can come tumbling down if we are not steadfast in our determination. It may not be centered around food; exercise; health; but it can also fall into the relationship world, work, church, etc. Now for the deeper thought: Good intentions are only that! Good deeds and a determination to do the right thing is what counts. As the old saying goes:
The road to hell is paved with good intentions is a proverb or aphorism.
An alternative form of the proverb is “hell is full of good meanings, but heaven is full of good works“. As I see it, when Greg and I are not filled with determination and drive to accomplish what is good for us, we fail. When people and us included, fail to act as God wills us to be, we fail Him and even though we don’t start out with bad intentions; anything we do not in according to how we should live our lives with respect to others is a waste of good intentions. Honestly, most of all of us will admit to having good intentions and either not following through and never acting on them.
We have started a new, healthy eating plan and part of the making sure of keeping good intentions, I am posting this to 50 countries for confirmation and determination. Let us go forth with good intentions and create great actions.
