TODAY THE WORDS are BRAND NEW DAY. When we shut our eyes to go to sleep, we have no promise we will wake the next morning. I consider each day a gift, a blessing, and an opportunity to accomplish something new to honor this blessing we have been given. There are all sorts of surroundings in which we awake. We can wake up in our own bed at home in familiar surroundings and somehow there is such comfort in having a home and feeling a sense of belonging. We lay a certain way and plump up our pillows and get our sleeping spot “just right” and off to dreamland. Another place we can face the new day is on a trip to the beach or the mountains or to a lake as the one Kirby and Sandy Holton rose the other day at a beautiful lake and they gave thanks to the One responsible for the splendor of the sunrise for His Great Artistry. Even though these surroundings are different from the home place, they can be exciting and adventurous. We view sunrises and sunsets from a variety of places and we are always in wonder of how the sun can peep up from the horizon and gently creep up over the water, the mountains, the trees, or the desert. I haven’t heard anyone say they did not get a thrill out of a splendid sunrise. It wakes us up; it invigorates us; it gives us a reason to smile; and it amazes us with its glory. We could, and many do, wake up on a street or in a shelter with so little to look forward on a new morning. With this statement, we see why, when we are blessed to have a warm home and have the opportunity to have the ability to go on trips, provide for ourselves and families; we need to help those less fortunate. We need to wake up if we are blessed to be in comfortable surroundings and thank Our Provider for these blessing and not grumble about going to work, the drive to work, getting dressed, being stressed (imagine the stress of being homeless) or having to budget for something special and not having to figure out we are going to eat or feed our children. A brand new day; a brand new way to love and receive love; to help and to receive help; to offer friendship and have the ability to be a good friend and if we recognize how much we have; our lives receive the warmth and love from another brand new day given by Our Maker. Live Life; Love Life; and Live Life to the fullest by taking in God’s beauty and creativity each and every brand new day!
DAILY FEATURED BIBLE VERSE:
Psalm 65
7Who stills the roaring of the seas, The roaring of their waves, And the tumult of the peoples. 8They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy. 9You visit the earth and cause it to overflow; You greatly enrich it; The stream of God is full of water; You prepare their grain, for thus You prepare the earth.…
