Homemade Banana Pudding |
TODAY THE WORDS are LAST SPOONFUL. I would surmise I am the only one who thinks about these things, but from comments I receive, there are more of us out there who give some thought about the little things in life. I have been observing the days of thanksgiving I see and a lot of those gifts are not big luxurious items, but feelings about someone being good to them, God blessing them, a warm place to sleep, good food to eat, etc. This is what brought me to this thought. I have made homemade from scratch banana pudding for years and my daughter loved it and always appreciated me making it for her when she would come home. Her tastes and eating less sugar has caused her to back away from it. Along came Cory, my stepson who feels more like a real son, took up the slack and devours it and has made me smile many times as he is adamant on how much he loves it. He will eat it until the last spoonful and scrape the bowl and get that last taste and mouthful. I took a picture of him with the empty casserole and we laugh about him loving it so much. Oh, there are many desserts my family enjoys and when they get to the last spoonful, I smile. I smile because of the memory I have had of that last spoonful, the last morsel and wonderful last bite and it brings me to the deeper thought……When someone we love passes away, there is that last spoonful of their love which will be better than the last spoonful of any food we will ever eat. That last smile, that last hug and kiss, that last conversation will be what we remember and savor. As with dessert, once we have finished eating that last spoonful, we know we will probably get to have an opportunity to taste it again; the same can be true with our loved ones. If we live according to God’s word and if we believe in the faith of Eternity with God; we will have another spoonful of our loved one’s embrace and love. Live Life; Love Life; and Live Life to the fullest by measuring out each spoonful of life and love as if it is our last spoonful.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
