TODAY THE WORDS ARE DID THE GRINCH STEAL INTEGRITY?

TODAY THE WORDS are DID THE GRINCH STEAL INTEGRITY? Yesterday, my daughter were catching up on our phone call, and the conversation went to what has happened to classiness of Americans. There have always been poverty stricken people but even the poor people tried to clothe themselves in a somewhat modest way. Of course the conversation went to the now viral videos and photos of  Wal-Mart shoppers and the worst part is these photos are not staged; they are actually untouched and that is entirely too scary. What is even sadder is the people photo’d don’t seem to mind; actually they seem to be so comfortable in these surroundings and this brings me to my message……Did the Grinch steal integrity in this country? When did we as a society get so liberal we accept this kind of ludicrous behavior? When did pajamas become shopping attire? I keep going back in years and I remember when jogging pants and sweat pants became acceptable and I even remember wondering if this was too slouchy for public wear with the exception of exercising. If only it were the case of sweat pants now…..When did cheeks of people (and I am not referring to our facial cheeks) become something we have to look at in stores and not on beaches? When did looking like a street walker (and not a jogger) become the new trend for teenagers and for those of us who could do the first exercise of pushing away from the table? Now, don’t go all “she’s judging” on me….It is not the person’s weight I am talking about; it is the way it is draped or in reality not draped I am talking about. When did it become cool to be so obnoxious someone takes a picture or puts your picture on the news? People, when someone is looking at these pictures, they are not complimenting you; they are making fun of you and is that what you were going for? When Jeff Foxworthy started the phrase, “You might be a redneck” I feel people reacted in a “weird” way. There is nothing wrong if you are living in a life where designer fashion is not allowed; but where is American pride or have we decided we are going to be a nation of “laughed upon” citizens? Is anybody seeing what I see? If we lose pride in our own image; we lose pride in being Americans who would fight for our freedom; take pride in our flag; build a country back to its rightful position as a country free and home of the brave or are we going to become a country of fools? One look in the mirror should answer this question; a little fashion risk is okay but showing your underwear or lack of is not ever going to be classy or any attempt of honoring God’s creation. Live life; love life; live life to the fullest by making the most of whatever you have been given. Say thank you to God by exercising integrity and respect to yourself first and others.

DAILY FEATURED BIBLE VERSE:
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
