TODAY THE WORDS ARE SHAKE IT UP

TODAY THE WORDS are SHAKE IT UP. In our cooking days, we find several times this phrase or shake it appears in our instructions. I don’t see it as much since I am eating healthy and coatings of any kind other than olive oil doesn’t come into play. Let’s think about the Shake and Bake and how it works. We put the chicken or chops into the bag where we have dumped the packet of seasoning and coating and we Shake it Up! Another example is when we make a shake from the packets or sometimes we still do it manually and we put the ingredients in a shaker bottle and we Shake it Up!
What happens when we shake it up? We start with an ingredient(s) and end up with either a coating or a shake with a total different appearance. In life, it seems nowadays, media wants to shake it up with any story or in other words, stir the pot. No matter what the intention is in reality, we live in a world seeking the drama; victimizing the criminal, glamorizing the villain, twisting the actual words someone has said. Even if I am not personally fond of a celebrity or a politician, I still want to hear their words in a truthful manner. I don’t want the spin or the shake it up version. I want it straight. Let me make the decision whether to believe or not believe. I am embarrassed at our media outlet and also at how the public responds to these “shake it up” coverage. We are intelligent people but it seems a large majority of people have somehow allowed themselves in an attempt to be accepting (and this could be a good thing) are “hell-bent” on believing there is no good except the side they are on. Instead of shaking it up, why not go to the old phrase, “There are always two sides to every story”. It would be beneficial to all of us to be more aware the news we hear may have been put into a bag or blender and shook up to create a totally different result. Now for my deeper thought….There is something we need to “shake it up” and that would be our spirituality. Being satisfied to be an onlooker is not how our lives should be spent. We do need to voice our faith in a respectful way; others who may need a little shaking up might appreciate our testimonies. We don’t need to write a blog, preach a sermon, become a world martyr but we need to share our testimony and life experiences. If you help one soul in need of God’s love, and we all need God’s love and mercy, you will have “shook it up” in a good, positive way and the results will be a new life beginning for that person. Live life; love life; and live life to the fullest by shaking it up and living a life which someone will want to hear how you were introduced to God’s love.
