TODAY THE WORDS ARE CHOOSING THE RIGHT MOMENT

TODAY THE WORDS are CHOOSING THE RIGHT MOMENT. So many times in our lives, we have a task to do; a favor to ask; a request for something; a decision to make and the outcome can have a big impact whichever answer we get. I have found in my life, it is all about making the choice of when it is the right moment and I can assure you I have gotten it right and I have gotten it wrong. Let’s go back to my childhood as I like to do to show a lesson in life I learned, mostly by errors, but lessons learned anyway. We had strict parents, but good and loving parents and they said what they meant and meant what they said. I usually stayed well within those parameters and flew mainly under their radar. One thing we knew, and I can’t even imagine how I let my desire to go to a party override this imbedded knowledge, but here goes the story. I had been invited to a party which I so wanted to go and approached my Mom while she was hanging out clothes on the line (okay, I know I am giving you a dateline on my age). Instead of choosing to help Mom hang out the clothes, I chose to ask her if I could go. No, was her answer and stubborn and determined to get a Yes; I asked again and received a NO and you need to help me hang these clothes. Well, talk about trying to get my way, I only voiced the M of Momma and the next thing I knew I had to get up off the ground. Do you think I asked again; No, I started hanging out clothes and I found out again when my parents said No, they didn’t mean maybe. I could recall more times in my life in work, in relationships, in friendships, I chose the wrong time to ask and the results were not favorable. I am sure you have your “war” stories too on how important the right moment is to the outcome. Choose the right moment for all things which are important and now comes the deep thought….How many times did well meaning people try to talk to you about salvation and you resisted? When your heart was ready to listen; that made the difference and the moment became the right moment. The person who is trying to help you find the way may have to wait and the best way of waiting for the right moment is to be a good example of how your life has become happier since you found the right moment to make the right choice of how you wanted to live your life.

DAILY FEATURED BIBLE VERSE:
Ephesians 6:1-4 ESV
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
