TODAY THE WORDS ARE BIG LIST OR SMALL LIST

TODAY THE WORDS are BIG LIST OR SMALL LIST. Let’s have a little fun on the blog today. The humor is not pointed at my husband who can out organize me and out shop me any day of the week. He is the most organized shopper (now mind you I didn’t say the most economical) and make lists out for everything. He knows where every product is located in the grocery store and I am totally lost since he has shopped for us for the last 12 years. Years ago, I volunteered to stop by the store for a few things and I couldn’t find an item and called Greg. He said without hesitation, “It is on the third aisle from the right, in the middle of the aisle, on the right about eye level” and sure enough, guess where it was? It was exactly where he said it was. I just love my man! If he is going for a few things, he uses a little list pad or if he is going for our main groceries, he uses the BIG list pad. He inspired me this morning when he started out with a little list and then when I was telling him I needed a lot of healthy vegetables; he said, “This little list will not work and I had better get my BIG list pad. To most of you who cannot relate to this organizational mentality, and oh, I know there are some of you who would be like I was before Greg took over and make a list, big or small, either leave it at home or never pull it out at the grocery store, are saying “That’s me”. It is a tremendous talent Greg has and it flows over to his work and it is so nice to have him around and there are a lot more reasons for him to be around but I won’t go there. He has left to go do our shopping and I do appreciate this task he does so willingly. I joke with him, that it is “spending money therapy” and it may be. Now for the deeper thought…….In our lives, we can choose between BIG lists or small lists of obligations, responsibilities, chores, hobbies, but Love and Faith should always go on the GIANT list. We can prioritize our lives to include the joys of life. It is easy to put a few duties on a small list and put other duties aside if we are not careful and then we overlook the main components of a happy life. Take a little advice from Greg to make your lists and if you need to include everything necessary to complete it without leaving some love or special time with your family and with your God; use the BIG list.

DAILY FEATURED BIBLE VERSE:

1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
