TODAY THE WORDS are SEESAW LOGIC. Out of the mouths of babes was a popular message for the blog and in the light of its popularity, another theme has developed. I have been blessed with a talented daughter who has her gifts of logic and spirit which are unique and we had a great discussion last night and she had used the seesaw logic in a conversation with a friend and I found it enlightening. Let me share her ideas with all of us. Any relationship can benefit from using the “Seesaw” logic theory. Usually, the two children or even adults sitting on a seesaw which is described by Google as “a long plank balanced in the middle on a fixed support, on each end of which children sit and swing up and down by pushing the ground alternately with their feet.” or has been called a teeter-totter, are of different weights and heights; therefore they sit at different positions if they attempt to balance the seesaw to actually level itself and “float” with both people’s feet off the ground. It takes focus from both people and a lot of balancing (give and take) and many attempts to obtain the perfect balance. How many of you remember attempting and hopefully obtaining perfect balance on a seesaw? How excited were you when your feet and body were airborne? It works the same in a relationship. We have to shift our positions in a discussion; it takes a lot of give and take; it doesn’t happen on the first attempt usually and requires patience and determination to balance the relationship. We have different personalities and builds (character, temperament, and patience) and we have to keep adjusting positions on the board of life with the goal of obtaining this necessary balance if we desire happiness. Relationships which can benefit from the seesaw logic are couples, parents/children, friends, families, business associates, neighbors, and church families. Playing nice on life’s playground entitles us to fun and the attainment of lasting relationships. Living a life of balance encourages others to find balance in their lives; it’s like seesawing!
