TODAY THE WORDS are I SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT COMING. Not every move by evil is looked at as evil; that is why so many can be deceived was my thought when I awoke this morning. We used to live in a “more good guys than bad guys” world and it seemed easier to tell who is a good person and who is a person with bad intentions. How many of you have been deceived by someone who, on the exterior, seemed to be a nice person only to find out they had dark secrets hidden by an innocent mask? How many people were deceived by a leader in a country who seemed to have good intentions and led their country into wars and devastation? How many religious leaders who have seemed to save millions only to find they had evil habits? Should others have seen it coming? In a world where the first thing out of someone who is doing something not in agreement with God’s word is “Thou shall not judge” and that is probably one of a handful of scriptures they know and certainly not what they live (sounds a little judgmental, right?), are we to get it right? How are we to know if something is evil or at least their actions are evil? I am human and I have to ask for forgiveness on a regular basis. I am, however, referring to evil in its un-purest form. If you believe in God; you should believe in Satan’s existence. Evil comes in many forms as I spoke earlier; God’s word tells us to be watchful and prayerful. An innocent flirtation can lead to a “murder” of a family. A temptation to “try” a recreational drug can lead to a spiraling drug addiction and can cost a person a normal life. A dare to “shoplift” as an initiation into a “gang” or club can lead destruction to a teenager’s reputation. A joy ride pre-empted by “we will take it back when we ride around in it a little while” may seem innocent but can lead to jail time. Oh yes, we should have seen it coming; but sometimes, it seems harmless and that is the deeper thought….If we would or could stop a second before we try something “harmless” to the eye and see it with our heart; we may save ourselves or someone we love a lot of pain and heartache. When we pray, do we not already know what God’s commands for direction and what God expects us to do about situations? Most of the time, we are asking for strength to do God’s will and this is the “evil or not” test; would this pass God’s test if we were to ask Him what is good or what is evil? God would tell us quickly; if you have read my Word, you would have seen it coming!
