TODAY THE WORDS are HAVE A LITTLE TALK. Early this morning, as it happens several times, a thought entered my head which has become the topic for today. My mind went to my early morning “God and me time” where I pray and study. This morning, an old gospel song kept coming through my mind, “Just a little talk with Jesus” written by Cleavant Derricks. Most of my friends are going to start hearing this song in their mind and some may start singing the lyrics. The thought went past the beautiful lyrics of:
I once was lost in sin, but Jesus took me in,
And then a little light from heaven filled my soul;
It bathed my heart in love and wrote my name above,
And just a little talk with Jesus makes me whole.
And then a little light from heaven filled my soul;
It bathed my heart in love and wrote my name above,
And just a little talk with Jesus makes me whole.

My mind went to the thought of what would happen if you were not having this talk with Jesus in your heart only? If you had an opportunity to stand before Him and what would you say, or would you say nothing and stand in awe of His Glory? Another great song came to me, “I can only imagine” and while imagining, does your mind go to a need to apologize for things left unsaid or undone? Would you think of missed opportunities or failures? Or would you think of praises to Him for all of the wonderful blessings you have received? Would you want to question things which happened to you or a loved one which you never understood the reason behind it? I closed my eyes this morning and imagined standing before Him and what I would do, and in that moment with all of the magnificent light and beauty, I found it to be overwhelming and all I wanted to do was cry tears of joy. The realization, which I have felt in my heart for several years, came to a vivid reality in my mind…..and here it is and the reason for this message…..We all will stand in His Holy Presence and we will have a “Little but Big” talk with Him one day. It is not just lyrics, or a sermon, or a lot of morning or evening times spent with His Word and prayers. At this talk, no words will have to be spoken as we all “live” our little talks with Jesus each and every day and it is important how we “talk” with our lives. The only words we are going to listen for is “Well done, my good and faithful servant” and the invitation to enter into Heaven. May all of us hear the lyrics of God.
