TODAY THE WORDS are WHY DO WE DO IT? Here goes an interesting subject to me and I hope it takes a thought provoking turn in some of your minds. With so many funny videos showing up everywhere, stories of people doing something which appears strange to many, or a reflection of Art Linkletter saying, “Kids say the dardnest things”; we find ourselves realizing people do the dardnest things in every day life. Have you said or done something and ask yourself, “Why did I do that?” I used to have fun with one of my great nephews, Austin who would laugh when I would use the expression Steve Urkel would say “Did I do that?” We live in a transparent, all in your face world and cameras are everywhere so our actions are more likely to be videoed or a photo taken when we act in a loathsome, despicable, or outrageous manner. But I ask, why do we do some of the repulsive things we do? I do understand why I make so many faces when little ones are around or at family functions; I have fun and must not be aware of those cameras who never catch me posed and mature. They seem to follow every silly gesture I make and there it is for posting on social media. Of course, I delete a lot of them if I can prior to “publishing”. Now, for the deeper thought…..You might ask how can you go to deep thoughts after creating an image in our minds of my face? More because of that image can I make the point of this message. Once an image or action has been placed in our minds, we find it hard to shake or remove that image from our mind. If one sees someone doing something unsportsmanlike; distasteful, vulgar, condescending, insensitive; those images have been “mind videoed” and it is hard to erase. Again, we live in a transparent world and I am not in favor of everything everyone does to be on display for everyone to see as I am an advocate for privacy. I am just saying, “Be careful and aware of the words coming out of your mouths as we may see them on Youtube. The most important advice is it is not Youtube, Facebook, or Twitter we need to be conscious of what we do. If all of these media sources were shut off today; God is still watching our every move and thought.
DAILY FEATURED BIBLE VERSE:
1 Corinthians 2:10-11
For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.
