TODAY THE WORDS ARE THE MORNING AFTER

Luna Rose, giving us the MORNING AFTER perfect pose

TODAY THE WORDS are THE MORNING AFTER. Even though I am actually having a morning after reaching a personal goal and being more excited about how much support and help I had from my friends than the goal of 50000 page views; this post is focused in a somewhat different direction. All of us have had the morning after experience at least once but usually several times throughout our lifetime. Allow me to bring it to the surface and no, I am not talking about singles waking up with a bad morning after shock of who they went to bed although that is one of the “bad morning afters” some people experience. I am referring to a morning after in which you have thoughts about a dream, job, relationship, family interactions, purchases, friendships, etc. This is the time when we wake up and immediately start thinking about something which happened the day before or something we dreamed and it stirs up the thought process. Morning after thoughts are usually deeper than our daily in our face thoughts. I have had dreams which were so “real” and I have awakened to wondering if it really happened. I am sure most of you know exactly what I mean. I have even looked around the room to see where I was. Since I do the blog usually each morning unless business calls me away, I don’t seem to have as many “morning afters” as I used to. The mornings are now more “here and now” thought processes.
I have given some thought to the morning after and want to share what I feel. You may or may not agree and that is okay if you have different opinions about this time of the day. When family situations have gone awry and there are hard feelings because someone said something and then someone else added their opinion and it keeps widening the gap. My suggestion is to stop talking; take a breather; remember who this is; and think about the times when closeness and love abounded; and then the most important aspect; forgive them and yourself. If it is a job; think about the time before you had this job; evaluate whether you were better off or did this job save your home, your car, and your livelihood? Maybe, just maybe, you start feeling better and appreciate it more today than yesterday. If it is a friendship and it has had a rift; remember what the word means; friend ship meaning it can ride out the rough seas and decide the rift is just a big wave and it will calm. Now for the deeper thought….Morning after is an opportunity for a brand new day for appreciation of the great blessings we have received, an opportunity to give forgiveness and receive forgiveness and even a fresh start in our lives to do something pleasing to God. Morning afters should be a great moment; have one!
