TODAY THE WORDS ARE LOVE AND LOYALTY
TODAY THE WORDS are LOVE AND LOYALTY and is inspired by a moment this morning when we witnessed the outpouring of love and loyalty shown by my daughter Missy’s little wonder dog, Luna. Luna has been featured on the blog many times and has become the blog’s mascot. Missy was re-packing her suitcase as she now goes to her Daddy Ralph’s for a few days. Missy and I were chatting away while Missy was sorting things she was leaving here and had the suitcase almost full. She looked down and who had packed her toy and herself in the suitcase; Luna was laying so contented in the suitcase. She was going and it didn’t matter where and it didn’t matter how long. Luna meant to be with Missy. She flies with her across the country in her lap without barking and probably has more frequent flyer miles than most humans. She will stay with me if Missy makes a grocery store run or other trips and Luna loves her Nana and is a good doggie while her Mommy is away, but the instant Missy comes back she is right there to give her so much “sugar kisses”. When we saw her in the suitcase, and discussed how loyal she is and how much she loves Missy, my daughter said the wisest statement. Her words were, “Why wouldn’t she feel this way? If everyone came into the world and only knew love from the first moments, taken care of, fed regularly and only organic, bathed, received personal grooming care, and got a belly rub every day, they would get in the suitcase and follow the person giving them the best love anywhere in the world. Any of us would.” This made such sense to me and led me to the deeper thought……We are so sensitive to love. Love given in the truest measure outweighs any stress we may face in life. Luna responds to Missy’s love and Missy responds to Luna’s love. It feeds off each other and this is the same for all of us. It is not magic; it is both of them giving and receiving love. Love which is one sided is not a true love as one who truly loves another is willing to give and receive from each other. I said to Missy after we finished talking about Luna with my thoughts as a Mother, “When I do something which I feel I might have hurt you in the least; my heart hurts so much. When I do something which I feel I might have made you happy; my heart bursts with happiness.” Make life full of love and remember love is an emotion which has to be fed, taken care of, properly maintained, and every once in a while, a good belly rub is wonderful. Live life; love life, and live life to the fullest by truly loving your loved ones.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
