TODAY THE WORDS are CLING FREE. I have a feeling when many of you read the words cling free, the idea of pants’ legs clinging together, a dress climbing up the backside, or a blouse clinging where it should not cling, came to your mind. All of us have probably dealt with this uncomfortable experience at least once or more in our lifetime. This time of the year doesn’t produce the static electricity as much but with more and more of us using clothes dryers, it can still occur if we don’t use the products which have been invented to give us the cling free clothes we desire. What I thought would be a thought which would bring a smile or two is the memory of the hair static and the look on everyone’s face when this phenomenon would be produced. Do you remember the first time you either saw or had your hair stand on end. It is funny with short hair, but hysterical when someone has long hair. According to Dictionary.com static electricity means:
  1. a stationary electric charge, typically produced by friction, that causes sparks or crackling or the attraction of dust or hair.

As I usually apply all messages to day to day living experiences, I thought about how some conversations we have with each other have similar static reactions and can even feel as if our hair is standing on end. Have you been talking with someone and the subject go to a topic which you are uncomfortable and you feel a static charge go through your body? I feel most of us have had this experience and what or how is the best way to apply some “cling free” words to diffuse the static atmosphere while at the same time maintaining our moral values, ethics, or beliefs? For this, let’s think how a cling free sheet works. It calms the static electricity; it doesn’t engage it. It is applied to the fabric and allows the ingredients to penetrate and do its magic. If we don’t react or encourage static words or reactions, our values have a better chance to penetrate to another person; if we calmly address a situation instead of “brushing or combing” which may encourage the friction; or if we allow the other person to step away from the close proximity of us; the friction will have an opportunity to cease and harmonizing is possible. We can’t always prevent friction; we can stop the static electricity between us if we calmly apply the cling free sheets of human compassion to our lives. Have a care free, static free, and loving day.
