TODAY THE WORDS are DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR? With a lot of celebration and seeing family and giving and receiving gifts last night, this morning at 5 am; I woke with a song echoing in my mind and it is “DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?” As it strummed through my head, I thought should we be so excited about Christmas gifts and all of the build up? I seemed to ponder this for a few minutes and then it seemed the answer to my question came. The gifts are a symbol of love to each other and no; we don’t have to have any gift but they are nice to feel love and sharing. The biggest reflection which came along with this thought was the Wise Men came bearing gifts to mark the biggest celebration of birth this world has ever known or ever will know. While this was being shown to me; the revelation of the “Gift” we received when Christ was born was Christ himself.
At Christmas, we are festive with decorations, glitter, lights, wrapping paper and ribbons all in bright beautiful display. We celebrate with family and friends; we have beautiful desserts; we dress up sometimes; and we sing Christmas carols. It is a wonderful time; it is a festive time; it is a loving time; but it is rightfully so that we celebrate and congregate. When this song came melodically streaming in my mind; I seem to hear, “Listen, my child. I was born to save you. You are right to celebrate My Holy Birth and give and receive as I gave and all I ask for you, my child is to Love Me and Worship in My Name. I ask you to love people as I love All of You. I ask you to forgive others as I have forgiven you. I ask you to humbly respect My Divine Power and if you hurt or need healing ask for My Gift of Healing as I AM THE GIVER OF ALL THINGS and I Love to Give. You see, my child I was born to give You My Life so you may live.”
Now, listen to this beautiful song when you read the lyrics, open your heart and you will hear the song as I heard it this morning. I thank God I have opened my heart to hear what God says to me, an unworthy soul saved by His Grace. Merry Christmas and May God Be Your Best Gift as He is mine.
Lyrics from Do You Hear What I Hear?
Said the night wind to the little lamb,
Do you see what I see
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
Do you see what I see
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite
Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,
Do you hear what I hear
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,
Do you hear what I hear
A song, a song, high above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea
With a voice as big as the sea
Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
Do you know what I know
In your palace warm, mighty king,
Do you know what I know
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Said the king to the people everywhere,
Listen to what I say
Pray for peace, people everywhere!
Listen to what I say
The Child, the Child, sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light
DAILY FEATURED BIBLE VERSE:
Luke 2:8-20 (New International Version)
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
