TODAY THE WORDS are WHAT IN THE WORLD?

TODAY THE WORDS are WHAT IN THE WORLD? With the latest news of another tragedy in Paris France, I take a few minutes to use a phrase our Mother used to say, “What in the world?” Life is hard enough without the craziness which seems to becoming the norm lately. It takes me back to a simpler time and in an effort to allow me to escape from all of the events which I seem helpless to do anything but pray for all of the victims. Before I go back into those times, I pray that sisters, brothers, parents, friends, and co-workers will stop the violence. It is not the way to solve problems; it only creates hurt and grief. Please find help and remember once a life is taken, not only is that life lost…all people who knew and loved the victims are forever affected by this selfish deed.
While stepping back into a seemingly happier time, I can think about how Momma who was a very intelligent and common sense person, but had lived through the depression. She believed in a simple  life but would be intrigued by technology and “new fangled things” and when she would see something different a “What in the world” to come out and I couldn’t help it; I would laugh.
This is the same expression Mom would have
when she would say “what in the world”

She however, even though we gave her an electric under the counter can opener, used her hand held manual can opener. She had many of the same items she had for years, not because she didn’t have new, more modern items; she liked familiarity. When we would watch television and if we happened to see an acrobatic act like Cirque du Soleil, I would expect her words “What in the world?

After Momma died I would reflect on her little phrases and words and this would give me such comfort and peace as these were her unique personality aspects. She lived in simplicity and liked to keep it that way. She would have been warning us if she were alive about the current tragedies and I can hear her voice ring, “What in the world?” and then she would probably say, “Baby, the bible speaks of this” and then she would tell me about how it speaks of before the end of time the events which will occur. Momma wasn’t a college scholar but she knew what is in the bible and believed in what it said. What I do know is Momma would have laid her life down for any of the people she loved and you didn’t mess with any of her children; she was like a Mother hen and trouble was coming if you messed with her biddies
Now for the the deeper thought…..What in the world has happened to people? Who stole love and replaced it with violence and hate? I am going to give a thought and it may not be the sole answer but I feel when we lost moral standards and anything goes…..all sanity left. I want to shout out to the world, Who gives you the right to justify your craziness? Life is short enough and we need to live it to the fullest. love to the fullest, and agree to disagree if we find ourselves at odds with someone. If we spend our time loving, giving, sharing, comforting, and laughing even at ourselves; we will not have time for evil. If God dwells in our hearts; we have love in our hearts and hate will not ever stick around if it is surrounded by love. Hate would then say, “What in the world” and leave our hearts.

DAILY FEATURED BIBLE VERSE:

Matthew 10:21English Standard Version (ESV)

21 Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death,

2 Timothy 3:1-4 ESV

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
