DID OUR FUN LOVING WORLD LEAVE?

DID OUR FUN LOVING WORLD LEAVE? I watched a video of a comedian whose focus was on how we treated a knock on the door 20 years ago and today and it was hysterical

Click on the space after hysterical to go to the link to this video but it was watching the video I was reminded of then vs. now. Not to wallow in the mud of the “good ole days” but why have we gotten so uptight and serious? With new technology, we should be enjoying so many funny times but that is not what is going on and this concerns me. I thought I would remind all of us with the song lyrics from the JUDDS song “Grandpa, Tell Me Bout the good old days”. The lyrics were posted on LyricsMode.com.

Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days
Sometimes it feels like this worlds gone crazy
Grandpa, take me back to yesterday
When the line between right and wrong
Didn’t seem so hazy

[Chorus:]

Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other, come what may
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away
Oh, grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days

Grandpa, everything is changing fast
We call it progress, but I just don’t know
And grandpa, let’s wander back into the past
And paint me the picture of long ago

Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other come what may
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say and then forget
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away
Oh, grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days
Oh, grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days

Even reading these lyrics encourages me to slow down, stop listening to the rhetoric of the current world, take some time to reflect on what is important, and value those important things as faith, family and friends, home and church, worthwhile hobbies, and quiet moments.

Looking over this list, I found I practice some of the stress relievers but I should allow myself more fun time such as Crank up the tunes. I remember when my daughter was small, we used to dance together and laugh a lot while busting the moves. I noticed a lot of the stress relievers have to do with movement and maybe with all of us so involved with technology, we exercise our fingers on the keyboards, and game controllers than we should. Signing off now to see what is waiting for me in the fun world. How about you?
